This issue will perhaps be our cutest yet. Owing to the dozens of pets we have in our feature (page 65). I never tire of the cute faces, creative names, and witty descriptions this feature brings.

After you manage to tear your eyes away from the cuteness (don’t miss our “Get to Know” story on service dogs on page 18), take a gander at some local highlights. We’ve got dazzling dancers (page 22), a before and after home renovation (page 58), and sun-inspired products (page 40). We’ve also got enough fuel to fire up your summer with popular local food trucks (page 84), white wines (page 88), and some intoxicating Peruvian cuisine (page 82). 

In the midst of all this revelry, don’t skip our “Health & Wellness” (page 36) and “Family Matters” (page 46) departments where we tackle some serious issues like food allergies and aging parents.

Placer Breast Cancer Foundation hosted their first Dinner in the Orchard, a farm-to-fork fundraiser to raise money to fight cancer. Held outdoors under twinkling lights, the dinner featured food made from ingredients sourced from the extended community, as well as a silent auction. Read More »
BET ON ROTARY
Folsom Lake Rotary and Historic Folsom Rotary hosted their annual evening of gambling to raise funds to support local community projects like Folsom’s Hope, Hearts 4 Heroes, Powerhouse Ministries’ Senior Gift Bag program, and more. GARDENS OF THE HILLS TOUR
The Assistance League of the Sierra Foothills once again hosted their Gardens of the Hills Tour where nearly 600 attendees were able to tour local private gardens as well as the Sherwood Demonstration Garden in Placerville. CHIPPING AWAY AT CHILDHOOD CANCER
Keaton’s Child Cancer Alliance celebrated its 25th annual Chipping Away at Childhood Cancer golf tournament in Auburn. Proceeds support the nonprofit’s mission of providing emotional, educational, and financial support to children with cancer and their families. Over 140 golfers, 50 community partners, and 30 volunteers joined efforts in the fight against childhood cancer. Read More »
