Q&A with Local Companies: Eden Orrick at The Meadow Connect

5305 A and A Road, Placerville, 530-377-5877, themeadowconnect.com

Services or products you offer: Heated and non-heated yoga (flow, yin, kaiut, etc.), barre and HIIT classes, sound healing workshops, and massage.

What you enjoy most about your profession: Witnessing people transform their lives on a physical, mental, and emotional plane. It’s my biggest joy to hold space where people feel safe and supported to do the work—a place where people can shift from all the doing to just being. Helping guide people “home” and providing tools to navigate this crazy life and seeing them leave our doors a little lighter and a little brighter.

You started your business, because: It’s been a longtime dream to open a business where people can put down some of what they’ve been carrying, move some of the issues out of their tissues, and transmute their wounds into their power. I deeply cherish connection: connection to self, nature, and the shared journey of healing.

First job: Babysitting. I’ve always loved being around children’s vibrant energy; they light me up!
Favorite food: Indian cuisine.

Favorite local restaurant: Spice Kitchen at Cold Springs Market.

Last big purchase: All the equipment to get our barre classes up and running.

Favorite small business: The Meadow’s Grow. You can never have enough plants!

When not working, you can be found: Spending time with family, dancing to live music, singing, eating, hiking, enjoying our local rivers, and adventuring with my partner and our dog.

You love living here, because: I love the connection and community that comes with living in a small town. This land is rich with beauty and opportunities for adventure.
