Roseville Utility Exploration Center

1501 Pleasant Grove Blvd  •  (916) 746-1550  •  Roseville.ca.us/explore

What brings fun, excitement, and education together? The Roseville Utility Exploration Center (UEC), of course! Located in Mahany Park in Roseville, the UEC is a one-of-a-kind learning center focused on inspiring stewardship of resources in everyday life in a fun, engaging way.

At the UEC, you can choose your own adventure. Through exhibits, special events, school programs, and workshops, visitors can dive into the world of utilities and learn how to save energy and water, reduce waste, protect the watershed, and live sewer smart.

To get inspired and spark curiosity, come:
  • Explore our exhibit hall, where you can crawl through a trash pile, generate energy with a crank, and participate in other hands-on interactives, to understand utility systems.
  • Participate in our exhibit hall programs, including our newly created League of Explorers program, where kids get a monthly utility mission to educate the value of our utilities and ways to reduce environmental impacts. It also includes an interactive live lab where you can build solar cars and race them with others, for example!
  • Check out our Inspiration Garden, a water-wise garden demonstrating beautiful water-efficient landscaping, lower maintenance, thriving with less water, creating the best match for California living.
  • Undercover tools for teachers as we blend common core and next-generation science standards with unit plans, in-class visits, field trips, and other materials tied to utilities and the environment.
  • Discover how we take the waste out of wastewater by attending one of our spring or fall in-person wastewater tours.
  • Attend one of our many workshops all year long to learn about energy efficiency, renewable technology, water efficiency, water-wise gardening ideas, and recycling.

Most of our offerings are free of charge. Come visit where utilities meet life!
