6 Best Burgers

Oct 27, 2017 02:59PM ● By Style

When it comes to the battle for the best burger, not everyone tends to agree. Is it the patty, the price, the toppings, the sauce, or the bun that reigns supreme? From haute to humble, we present you with our findings. In no particular order…

"Two cheeses are always better than one, and the Black and Blue Burger at Folsom Tap House comes with both gorgonzola and blue cheese, so you get extra ooey-gooey goodness. Crafted from a half-pound Five Dot Ranch beef patty that’s perfectly blackened, it’s also topped with crispy onions and barbecue sauce. If you’re a fan of quality you can taste, then this is what burger dreams are made of.” folsomtaphouse.com

“Sometimes a classic, no-frills burger is what a girl wants, and the Angus Burger at Manderes delivers. The half-pound patty is juicy enough to stand alone, but the addition of lettuce, tomatoes and pickles adds a crunch and freshness that I’ll never say no to. For those who think less is not more, fret not: You can add cheese, bacon or pastrami to make it more of a mouthful. The best part? It’s served on chewy ciabatta, which is probably the best bread ever.” manderes.com

“As a vegetarian, good burgers can be hard to find. Luckily, the Black Bean Veggie Burger at Marly and Moo always impresses. Topped with caramelized onions, avocado and oven-roasted tomatoes on a pillow-soft bun, the flavor-packed patty is good to the last bite and has even convinced my carnivorous husband that being a veg head isn’t all that bad.” marlyandmoo.com

“Don’t let the unassuming exterior or biker bar vibe deter you—Bones Roadhouse serves up to-die-for, no frills burgers that’ll have you returning again and again. My go-to is the Cheeseburger with grilled onions, cheddar, ‘Bones Sauce,’ and all the fixin’s. Prepared exactly as ordered (medium-rare), it’s a greasy (in a good way), mouthwatering juxtaposition of textures and flavors.” bonesroadhousehangtown.com

“Beef isn’t always what’s for dinner. I like to switch things up sometimes with the Ahi Tuna Burger at Relish Burger Bar. It comes with a five-ounce ahi tuna steak (marinated in soy, fresh ginger, garlic and sesame oil), daikon radish slaw, and Thai peanut sauce (yes, you’ll want to eat it by the spoonful). All these unique flavors come together so beautifully in this burger, which is why it's one of my favorites." relishburgerbar.com

“The Johnny Cash Burger at Samuel Horne’s Tavern is their number one seller for a reason. Topped with an Angus patty that’s hand-packed daily and never frozen, crispy bacon, cheddar cheese, house bourbon-espresso sauce (aka, bomb sauce) and fried onion straws, it’s a napkin-heavy, messy meal that always satisfies. Do yourself a favor and opt for the tater tots as your side; they’re worth every sinful, salty calorie!” samhornes.com
