Good Dog-Dirty Dog 5K Walk and Run
August 27 // Granite Beach, Folsom Lake
Proceeds from this fourth annual event benefited the Placer SPCA and California State Parks. Over 100 runners and walkers, plus their pups, came out to enjoy the scenic 5K course with Total Body Fitness and TBF Racing.

Buy a Day of Hope Charity Golf Tournament
August 14 // Serrano Country Club, El Dorado Hills
Golfers enjoyed live and silent auctions, raffle prizes, dinner and on-course games at this annual tournament that serves as El Dorado Hills Endowment’s primary fund-raiser. This year’s event raised a record $42,000, which will be distributed to the community through a competitive nonprofit grant process.

Wacky Dash
August 19 // Downtown Sacramento
Attendees of all ages enjoyed this two-mile obstacle course that featured giant inflatables—including a Slip ‘n’ Slide and Adrenaline Rush—plus mud pits, foam tunnels, waterslides and more.

The Color Run
August 5 // Raley Field, West Sacramento
The Color Run, also known as the “Happiest 5k on the Planet”—and the largest running series in the world—was a unique and exciting event that celebrated healthiness, happiness and individuality. The 5K, untimed race allowed thousands of participants to have the time of their life, as they were doused from head to toe in different colors at each kilometer.

Walk For Wishes
August 19 // State Capitol, Sacramento
This family-friendly three-mile or one-mile walk winded through Downtown Sacramento and benefited Make-A-Wish Northeastern California and Northern Nevada, which grants wishes to local children battling life-threatening medical conditions. This year’s event raised $160,000 and had 103 teams consisting of about 1,000 walkers.
