Daytime Lane Closures Announced for Highway 50 in El Dorado County

May 09, 2016 09:13AM ● By David Norby

(Placerville, CA) – The Transportation Division of El Dorado County’s Community Development Agency will implement day time lane closures in both directions of U.S. 50 between El Dorado Hills Boulevard and Bass Lake Road. Closures are as follows:

Westbound Daytime Lane Closure on Tuesday, May 17th

 Westbound Number 3 Lane (outside lane) from Bass Lake Road to the Silva Valley Parkway will be closed from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. One lane, in addition to the HOV Lane, will be open for travel.

Eastbound Daytime Lane Closure on Wednesday, May 18th

 Eastbound Number 4 Lane (outside lane) from the Silva Valley Overcrossing to Bass Lake Road will be closed from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm. Two lanes, in addition to the HOV Lane, will be open for travel.

These closures are necessary to facilitate paving operations for the new westbound off-ramp to U.S. 50 and for the new eastbound on-ramp to U.S. 50 for the County’s Silva Valley Interchange Project. While the lane closures are in place, both directions of U.S. Highway 50 traffic will be open. Motorists are encouraged to take other alternate routes around the area which also bypass the closures. Portable changeable message signs will be placed around the work zone to keep motorists updated on any changes to the timing of the closures.

Questions regarding these temporary closures may be directed to the Aradhana Kochar, the County’s resident engineer for this project, via e-mail at [email protected].
