Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

The business found me. From planning proms in high school and working for campus events in college, to being event chair of my sorority and working on various nonprofit event committees, planning and coordinating has always been a part of me.

What was the first job you ever had, and what did you learn from the experience?

My first job at the age of 16 was working as a recreational aide for parks and recreation. I set up events, picnics and activities for groups at Elk Grove Park.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer? I am most proud of my role as a team captain for the American Cancer Society Charity Golf Tournament, which benefits cancer research, education, advocacy and patient programs and services for the Great Valley Region.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

My event staff and I have a servant’s heart. We actively listen, take action without prompting, and focus on troubleshooting before problems arise.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

Other than my marriage to my wonderful husband and having two beautiful children, I would say the degrees I earned. I have a BA in liberal studies and an MA in human resources with an emphasis in organizational development.

Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?

Malala Yousafzay. She is such a brave young lady who stood up in adversity to fight for the rights of girls to an education. I aspire to leave a legacy as impactful as Malala.

Where do you go when the going gets tough?

Church and yoga—and not necessarily in that order. These are my routines on Sunday or any time I just need to breathe!

What’s your hidden talent?

Pilates! I have a Pilates certification, and I’m not afraid to use it! I love to workout and share my enthusiasm for fitness with others.

What’s your biggest job perk?

Traveling to really amazing destinations!

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

Too many places to list.

Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?

We love going to places the whole family can have fun—bowling, the movies, Rockin Jump and the California State Railroad Museum.

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

My mom was, and still is, an amazing cook. She would make delicious four-course meals every evening, and we would all gather around the table and talk about our days. Her homemade apple pie is to die for!

If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?

My grandmother. She passed away before I was born. I would have loved to meet her and learn more about her.

What’s your favorite local business other than your own?

Carvalho Family Winery—amazing wines and a wonderful staff!

If you could be any other profession, what would it be?

I would be in the entertainment field, probably a newscaster, because I enjoy public speaking and my friends say I have a large vocabulary.

And finally, customer service is…?

Making "going the extra mile for your client" an everyday part of your practice!
