Placer County Residents Ready to Run for Domestic Violence Awareness Month

ROSEVILLE – Stand Up Placer’s fifth annual Stand Up and Run 1K fun-run, 5K & 10K will take place tomorrow October 3, 2015 at Sculpture Park in Roseville. The race will kick off October’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Placer County and raise awareness of Stand Up Placer’s efforts to empower survivors of domestic and sexual violence. We expect close to 300 runners and walkers for this annual event. Included this year will be vendor booths, food trucks, and the Stand Up Placer booth with information about programs and services. The proceeds raised from the family-friendly event will fund the survivor driven programs, which include a 24-hour crisis line, emergency safe house and legal advocacy.
