Fifth Annual Stand Up and Run 5K & 10K, 1K Fun Run Slated for October 3

Stand Up Placer’s Stand Up and Run 5K & 10K run and walk takes  place Saturday, October 3rd. Participants can run, stroll, walk, or hike along beautiful sections of Miner’s Ravine trail, beginning and ending at Roseville’s Sculpture Park, 350 North Sunrise Avenue. The family-friendly Stand Up and Run also offers the opportunity to participate in trainer-led warm up exercises, by Mama Boot Camp. Over the past four years, Stand Up Placer runs have attracted hundreds of community supporters annually. This officially-timed 5K and 10K run is the kick-off to the nationally-recognized Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  

Proceeds from the run will help Stand Up Placer, a community based nonprofit, provide support services for Placer County survivors of domestic violence, and sexual assault. Stand Up Placer is Placer County’s primary provider of comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. Services include a 24 - hour crisis line, an emergency safe house, victim advocacy and walk-in support at service centers in Auburn and Roseville.  Annually, Stand Up Placer assists more than 2,500 Placer County residents, providing over 8,000 safe bed nights in the safe house and provided more than 15,000 services.
