Be a part of one of the hottest entertainment events of the year - - the Journeys Backyard Barbeque Tour - - a free alternative sports and music festival making a national tour stop in the Sacramento area (outside Galleria at Roseville).

This free, all-ages interactive event is a select stop on a five-city national tour, featuring thrilling live shows by international athletes, free concerts by national headliners, and talent competitions for local music talent with thousands of dollars in cash and prizes.

Pro extreme sports athletes from around the world will fly through the air in gravity-defying demonstrations of the best of freestyle motocross and skateboard in a 60,000 square foot “alternative sport playground” of ramps and jumps. This tour stop will feature a rare appearance by Rob Dyrdek, star of the hit MTV show “Fantasy Factory,” and X Games BMX superstar Dave Mirra.

Adding to the mix will be free daily concerts by some of the hottest new bands in the country, including headliner act “Switchfoot.” Some of the best local alternative music artists will also compete in an American Idol-style “Battle of the Bands” - - with winners judged by live fan voting. Many bands featured on this tour go on to hot careers and new recording contracts after being “discovered” at this event.

Fans can chill with cool entertainment and free giveaways in the tour's interactive fun zone - - featuring more than 15 booths with free games, prizes, and giveaways, including and kids learn-to-skateboard area, and an artistic shoe coloring/design contest, where the winning shoe design is actually produced by Converse,

This free, all-ages tour will leave a smokin’ hot trail across the country this spring – from Sacramento to Dallas, Cleveland to Boston, and wrapping up in Nashville.
