We’ll visit four historic cemeteries: Smith Flat cemetery, old “Upper” cemetery, old “City” cemetery, and end up at Saint John’s historic church with its tiny cemetery behind the Nature Center in historic Coloma (near the possibly haunted Vineyard House!) Enjoy close-up views of downtown Placerville while we investigate gravestone markers dating back to the 1850’s. Keith Atwater is a long-time ARC member and has taught Humanities, history, and religion at the high school, community college, and university levels. Responsible 10-year-olds+ welcome.
