Sacramento Event: American River College Theatre Presents Lysistrata

This is the most popular of all Greek comedies, wherein the women of the Greek cities band together to end the wars by withholding sex until the men agree to sign a peace treaty.

This modern translation of Arisophanes' ever popular play is as hilarious as it is topical, and the 'live zoom' performances are sure to offer a few surprises for daring audience members in the mood for the danger and fun of live theatre again!

For those with tender ears and delicate sensibilities, please be aware that even by today's standards our show is rated R for raunchiness (can you say "naked puppets," anyone?). However, our spirited actors and their fearless director also rate it G for good fun!

Performances will be live streamed Nov, 27th, 28th and 29th. And Dec 4th, 5th, and 6th. Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm.

Please note: Sunday performances are at 2pm.

Rated R for sexual content, profanity and puppet nudity.

To be able to serve as many people as possible during these times, the cost of each ticket is "pay-what-you-can." Audience donations help defray the expenses involved with the production, and are much appreciated. Threre will be plenty of audience space available.

Two weeks of performances as follows: Fridays, Nov. 27 & Dec. 4 at 7:30pm Saturdays, Nov. 28 & Dec. 5 at 7:30pm Sundays, Nov. 29 & Dec. 6 at 2pm
