Join students from local high schools beginning at 7 p.m. at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in Placerville as they participate in this competition, which is part of a national program that encourages high school students to learn about great poetry. Admission is free.

The aim of Poetry Out Loud is to encourage the study and appreciation of great poetry. Students engaged in the program not only learn about their literary heritage but also build self-confidence through mastering public speaking skills.
