Placerville Event: Abundant Ink for Artists–A Forager’s Delight

Can ink be made from plants in our surroundings? Absolutely! In this 3-hour workshop, we’ll take a walk to gather materials for our homemade artist ink, then return to create our ink. This will be a water-soluble ink and can be used for a variety of applications and on a number of surfaces. Join artist Judi Pettite as we explore plant-derived colors in the landscape. Judi uses natural pigments in her work and has been researching the efficacy and use of plant derived colors since 2006. See her work and experiments on judipettite.com or @biohue on Instagram. Ages 12+ welcome. Cost: $45/members, $55/non-members. Contact ARC to sign up and for meeting location (Coloma area). [email protected] or 530-621-1224.
