Founded in 2012 by lifelong friends and multi-instrumentalists, Jacob Sims and Travis Runyon, The Great Wide Open is an Americana-Folk-Rock band currently residing in Northern California via Central Ohio. A brother-like duo fueled by a wide spectrum of musical upbringing, they blend rock-and-roll and folk-string-band with driving foot-percussion and harmonies. Their original songs of heartbreak and everyday struggle paint a picture of their personal growing pains. While other songs of love, redemption and observation reflect deep romanticism. They have shared the stage with such artists as; Willie Watson, Langhorne Slim, Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper, The Fiarfield Four, The Wood Brothers, Willy Tea Taylor, and The Tillers.
