Congrats to This Month’s Nonprofit Beneficiary: Sierra Wildlife Rescue

Sierra Wildlife Rescue (SWR)—whose purpose is to preserve El Dorado County’s wildlife by rescuing and rehabilitating injured and/or orphaned native animal species and releasing them back into the wild—has been in operation since 1992. The organization also provides year-round education programs to schools, community organizations, and the public where they discuss wildlife conservation.

Emiley Mohr, account manager of STYLE Magazine; Dan Dreher, co-owner of Wally's Pizza Bar; and Terry Carroll, publisher of STYLE Magazine, present the check to Jill Tripoli, director of animal care; Debbie Buckles, president; and Judy Thompson (holding red-tailed hawk Isabeau), education team member of Sierra Wildlife Rescue.
SWR’s Center in Diamond Springs is open May 1-August 15 to rehabilitate songbirds; other avian and mammal species—raptors, waterfowl, bobcats, coyotes, fawns, foxes, opossums, rabbits, raccoons, skunks, and squirrels—are cared for by trained and dedicated in-home rehabilitators who are committed to preparing these precious creatures for release back into the wild. The Center and rehabilitation activities are designed to meet or exceed federal, state, and local requirements.
