Piece of Cake: Apple Hill Cake

Autumn is prime apple-pickin’ time! And what better place to grab the goods then Apple Hill? If you’re wondering what to make with all the golden, delicious fruit that you haul home, we suggest Apple Hill Cake. Keep reading for the easy-to-follow recipe that only requires 10 ingredients.

 

APPLE HILL CAKE

2 cups sugar

1/2 cup oil

2 eggs

4 cups diced apples (preferably from Apple Hill)

2 cups flour

2 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. nutmeg

2 tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. salt

1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts

 

Preheat oven to 350 s. Grease a 9”x13” pan. Combine sugar, oil, and eggs in a large bowl, stirring until well mixed. Stir in diced apples and nuts. Sift together flour, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt; then add to bowl.

 

Stir all ingredients together to form a batter (do not overmix). Pour into pan. Bake one hour, or until golden and cake is set.
