There’s a place in Rocklin where you can drink a shake, then shake it off. Literally. Thrive serves up super tasty protein shakes, smoothies, teas, and snacks. Then, just steps away, is a room where they offer free (yes, FREE) exercise classes like strength training and cardio drumming. When you order your drink, you start with an Aloe Shot. (The kind of shot you drink, of course!) The aloe helps with digestion and contains antioxidants, and you can choose between three flavors: mango, cranberry, and mandarin orange. I tried the mandarin orange and was pleasantly surprised as it was refreshing and light. Next, choose your drink. In the mood for tea? Their Fusion Teas are almost too pretty to drink, and they’re packed with nutrients. But, once I saw the folks across the way shaking it, I was in a shake mood. It was hard to choose one because they have quite the menu: Cookie Dough, Oatmeal Cookie, Banana Berry, Twix…decisions, decisions. I ended up with the Caramel Mocha Latte. When something tastes good and is healthy, it’s a great find; and I found it! Their shakes have 24 grams of plant-based protein, are dairy-free, and run between 220 and 260 calories. They also have healthy cookies! How is that even a sentence? No white flour or sugar, and gluten-free. I bought two. (The Chocolate Crinkle called my name). One for me, and one for…me. What?! They’re healthy!
