Introducing Jennie and Beth Reiken at The Good Life Dog Daycare & Boarding

5905 Pacific Street, Rocklin,

916-415-9663, thegoodlifedogdaycare.com,
@thegoodlifedogs

Services or products you offer: Air-conditioned, cage-free day care where dogs get to play with their friends while getting lots of love and attention. Our employees are on-site 24/7 so dogs are never left alone; what’s more, everyone is CPR and first aid certified with vet techs available. We also offer grooming.

What you enjoy most about your profession: The relationships we've built with our dog and human clients who have become part of our family. The individualized care we give each dog allows pet parents (and families) to go to work, travel, enjoy weekend sports with their children, and attend community events knowing their dog is safe and cared for.

Fun fact about your company: Our dog Hurley runs the show, and our facility—and logo—was designed with him in mind. He’s a sneaky puggle, so we built a safe facility for dogs just like him, including secure gates leading in and out of our play yards and individual food cubbies. Since he’s aging, we knew we needed comfy couches and soft bedding where our older friends can relax. Hurley also approves all treats and toys purchased to ensure nothing but the best is being brought into the facility.

First job: Sierra Skate in Auburn. My sister (and The Good Life’s co-owner) Beth and I helped run the snack bar and weekend birthday parties. We grew up competitively roller-skating, so it was a natural fit.

Favorite food: Pasta is always a good choice, and chocolate!

Last big purchase: New couches and play structures for the yard.

When not working, you can find me: Walking my dogs, Hurley and Little Miss.

you love living here because: Since the day we let people know about our opening, we were welcomed with open arms from clients, local animal nonprofits and advocacy organizations, veterinary hospitals, and even other dog day cares. It's been a real treat becoming part of the community.
