Ask the Experts: What are Some Timeless Home Design Pieces That’ll Never Go Out of Style?

Q: What are some timeless home design pieces that’ll never go out of style?

A: First off, invest in quality upholstery (sofas and sectionals). Next, a quality bar cart is a must. Even if you don’t drink, you can style it as a coffee cart and move it from room to room, as needed, for entertaining. Thirdly, area rugs (I especially love vintage kilim ones) are essential. Finally, I recommend adding statement lighting, particularly entry and dining chandeliers, to your home.

Q: Is white chocolate actually chocolate?

A: In the U.S., the FDA mandates that white chocolate contains at least 20% cocoa butter, 14% milk solids, and 3.5% milk fat; sugars and other sweeteners must be limited to no more than 55% of the product. It’s also important that it’s made with cocoa butter, which is pressed from the cocoa bean. Due to the real cocoa butter, genuine white chocolate should be ivory in color.
