Why We Love It: Follows Folsom Lake; provides lake and forest views; option to hike as much or little as you like; fairly flat; well-maintained; can be accessed at multiple points between Folsom and Auburn.

Trail Notes: Wear shoes with traction, dress in layers, bring extra water and snacks, remember sun protection (hat, sunscreen), and, as always, pack out what you pack in. Remember to keep to the right, and that horses have the right of way over hikers.
