The 10 Spot: Celebrate St. Patrick's Day

BRAVE THE SHAVE. Every year, St. Baldrick’s Foundation hosts a fundraiser for children with cancer at the Westfield Galleria at Roseville. This year’s event—March 2 from noon to 4 p.m.—is hosted by Keaton’s Child Cancer Alliance, and participants have the choice of shaving their head, volunteering, or donating any amount of money.

MUSIC MATTERS. The Harris Center presents The Irish Rovers on March 5 at 7:30 p.m. Best known for their international television series and several chart-topping hits like “The Unicorn,” “Wasn’t That a Party,” “Drunken Sailor,” and more, it’s a can’t-miss concert.

MARCH ON. Head to the Old Sacramento Waterfront at 1 p.m. (Neasham and Front Streets) for the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 16, featuring hundreds of colorful marchers dressed in green, along with Irish and Highland dancers, pipe and drum bands, historic reenactors, and more.

PARTY HARD. Don’t miss this 21-and-over party on March 17 at The Boxing Donkey in Roseville. From 6-9 a.m., enjoy a traditional Irish breakfast complete with Irish coffee, followed by a beer garden with live music and two bars. Other authentic fare is on the menu too, including corned beef, shepherd’s pie, and more.

HERE TO PADDY. The Purple Place in El Dorado Hills is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day event with live music from Dam Road Closed, house-made Irish food like corned beef and cabbage, as well as plenty of drinks like green beer and Irish Car Bombs. The party starts at 8:30 p.m. on March 16.

ICE, ICE BABY. Big Spoon Yogurt at The Fountains in Roseville is hosting a leprechaun story time along with crafts and a visit from Berry the Big Spoon Bear on March 14 at 3:30 p.m. What’s more, attendees can buy one yogurt get one half off during the event.

LUCK OF THE IRISH. Head to 36 Handles in El Dorado Hills from March 15-17 for a weekend long event. Enjoy whiskey and cigars on Friday, a cornhole competition on Saturday, and an all-day party on Sunday starting at 8 a.m.

RUN FOR IT. The Spirit of Benny 10K/5K Fun Run and Walk is a family-friendly fundraiser on March 16 that primarily benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The race begins at 9 a.m. on Clay Street in Placerville and continues onto the scenic El Dorado Trail.

LUCKY CHARMS. Doyle’s Pub and Taproom in Folsom is hosting an all-day St. Patrick’s Day event on March 17 featuring their signature corned beef as well as drink specials like traditional Irish coffee with house-made whip and green beer.

GREEN WITH ENVY. From March 15-17, Flower Farm Café in Loomis is serving Irish fare like corned beef hash with all the fixings, Irish soda bread, and brews. From 1-3 p.m. on March 16 and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on March 17, bagpiper Jason Briggs will perform.
