Cameron Park Community Services District: Holiday Happenings

Sprint into the season at the annual Santa Run—a family-friendly 5K run/walk—on December 1 beginning at 8 a.m. (check-in starts at 7 a.m.) at the Cameron Park Community Center. After, join the fire department for a pancake breakfast.

Don’t miss the Santa Parade, where the man in red drives throughout Cameron Park accompanied by the fire department, on December 7-9 (rain dates are December 14-16).

Enjoy the Sierra Symphony Orchestra at the Cameron Park Community Center on December 8 beginning at 4 p.m. Tickets are available at the Shingle Springs/Cameron Park CSD office, Bel Air in Cameron Park, and online at showclix.com and sierrasymphony.org.

The 50+ Room is open Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for table games like bridge, Mexican train, pinochle, cribbage, and more. Looking for something more active? Try a modified Zumba class or “Tai Chi for Better Balance”—both start December 4.

Adults 18 and up are invited to join Richard Kowaleski on Wednesdays for ballroom dance lessons at 7 p.m. and tango at 8 p.m.

Youth in grades 1-8 can still sign up for a youth basketball league, which starts in January. First and second graders practice and scrimmage on Saturdays; third through eighth graders have weekly practices and put their skills to the test at weekly Saturday games.

For kiddos wanting to learn a new craft, sign them up for Shabby Chic, where they can decoupage and embellish projects like dream boards, journals, and more.

Looking for an affordable holiday event venue? The Cameron Park CSD has multiple rooms for events of all different sizes and types.
