Secret Language of Dreams Reception

The Gallery at 48 Natoma is hosting a free public reception from 6-8 p.m. for their new exhibit featuring sculptures and paintings by Claudia Cohen. The evening includes live music and light refreshments. 916-461-6601

Folsom Renaissance Faire and International Jousting Tournament

This living history event transports guests back in time to a 16th century English village with hundreds of costumed entertainers, jousting competitions, and a variety of food, crafts, and wares. The 26th annual event takes place in Folsom City Lions Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. folsomfaire.com

Bark ‘n’ Splash Bash

This much-anticipated annual event for pet enthusiasts and their four-legged family members takes place from 1-4 p.m. at the Steve Miklos Aquatic Center. The entry fee is $10 per dog; as always, human companions are free! Furry friends are allowed to swim and frolic in the activity pool, which features a pooch-pleasing play structure and sloped, beach-style entry into the water. For the water-shy, there’s abundant lawn for romping and doggie socializing. Note: Attendees must provide written proof of a current animal license for their dog(s). 916-461-6640

Live Art Experience

This free community event in Folsom’s Historic District goes from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and showcases 15 artists live painting throughout the day, plus a kids’ chalk art event. A silent auction for the paintings created at the event will benefit the Historic District’s sesquicentennial art mural refurbishment project. historicfolsom.org

FOLSOM GLOW

Early registration is encouraged for this popular sell-out event. Beginning at 7:45 p.m. in Folsom’s Historic District, the family-friendly 4K walk takes participants through an easy, paved trail that includes a Silly String battle, DJ tunes, live music, and a selfie station. All registered participants receive a custom-designed medal to commemorate the event. Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome, and creative ways to show your glow are encouraged! folsom.ca.us
