Introducing Stevie Wittich: Campfire Treats
4800 Granite Drive, Suite B10, Rocklin, 916-259-2930, campfiretreats.com
Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?
It definitely found me. When looking for healthy, all-natural treats for our dog—a vizsla named Pippa—I wasn't happy with the ingredients in most of them, so I started making treats myself. Pippa loved them. Friends’ dogs went crazy too, and that’s when I knew it might be a great business. In 2017, after several months of perfecting recipes, I launched Campfire Treats online to provide all-natural treats and chews to dogs across the nation. In April of this year, we added a small store to serve local customers in person. The factor that led me to start the business became a key element of the company philosophy: ingredients. I care a great deal about what goes into our treats. To that end, every single ingredient is from the U.S. and of a quality that you and I would eat as well. We don’t use any additives, preservatives, fillers, or dyes; each treat is handcrafted in our Rocklin kitchen.
Where do you go when the going gets tough?
I take our dog to Folsom Lake.
What’s your biggest job perk?
Meeting a lot of friendly dogs!
What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?
Vaiano Trattoria or The Chef’s Table.
What’s your favorite local business other than your own?
The Antique Trove. I love finding things I didn’t know I needed.
If you could be in any other profession, what would it be?
Running a pretty B&B somewhere on the California coast with my husband, but right now I’m 100 percent committed to Campfire Treats.
And finally, customer service is…?
The golden key to success.
