A Touch of Understanding (ATOU) recently reached the milestone of 100,000 students participating in their disability-awareness workshops, since its incorporation in 1996. The nonprofit is now in schools across eight counties, including Placer, Sacramento, and El Dorado, and has a staff that includes a team of 77 volunteers—39 of whom have disabilities. They’ll be celebrating this milestone at their Art from the Heart event on April 20.
