CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING AND CHIPPING

JANUARY 6-7

Don’t miss this free CSD/Waste Connections-sponsored event at the El Dorado Hills Community Park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday. Cash donations will be accepted and used to help the EDH Promise Foundation’s Community Assisting with Recreation Experiences (C.A.R.E.) program.

To prepare:
Remove everything from the tree including all ornaments, lights, ornament holders, nails, and stand; trees that are “flocked” are not eligible for chipping. Discarded wreaths, garlands and greenery with metal, plastic, wire, lights, or ornamentation are not considered green waste.

Residents have a choice of:

• Bringing their own trees to the park either day

• Utilizing the Boy Scouts curbside tree collection fund-raiser on January 6

• Cutting the tree into small pieces to place in the green waste cart (making sure it’s not so packed in that it will get stuck in the cart when being emptied) for green waste collection week

• Taking trees to the Recycling Center at 4421 Latrobe Road

• Taking trees to the Material Recovery Facility in Diamond Springs
