FOODIE FIND: MOOYAH Burgers, Fries and Shakes

MOOYAH in Rocklin serves up some pretty good burgers, fries, shakes and hot dogs—just ask the constant flow of people who pass through every day. Before you even enter, the doors promise fresh hot buns that are house-baked. That’s a win right there. Once inside, you’ll find a large “Moodle Doodle” scribble board for all your artistic endeavors; clean, bright interiors; and a simple, but delightful menu of good ol’ American fast food that’s made from quality ingredients—non-GMO buns; fresh, never-frozen ground Angus beef patties; and milkshakes with real ice cream. I tried the Mooyah Cheeseburger and it came with a perfectly cooked patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and a tangy yet sweet Mooyah sauce on a potato bun. On spotting the boxes of Idaho potatoes in the corner, I ordered the Half and Half Fries (shareable size) that were equal parts regular and sweet potato. Hand cut and cooked in trans-fat free oil, they turned out to be my favorite part of lunch. I was feeling especially “vanilla” that day—which was a good thing, because vanilla is my favorite—so I ordered a small Vanilla Milkshake with whipped cream and a cherry on top…because, why not? The thick shake, alongside my tasty burger and sinful fries, made for one happy meal…just the kind I like.
