Wayback Burgers  //  As I entered one of Folsom’s newest quick-serve eateries, Wayback Burgers, I couldn’t help but notice the enticing aroma of meat cooking on the griddle. Glancing at the menu—which includes an array of offerings like a BYO hot dog to a cod fillet, chicken tenders, Irish nachos, and every type of burger under the sun—it was the Double Bacon Cheeseburger that caught my eye. After all, a double serving of bacon (four pieces in this case!) is always a force to be reckoned with. Of course, what would a burger be without French fries? I decided to take mine to the next (delicious) level by upgrading to get the chili cheese variety. Served on a pillow soft bun and stuffed to the brim with crispy bacon, melted American cheese, two perfectly seasoned patties and fresh fixin’s, the burger was comfort food at its finest. Between bites, I devoured the plentiful pile of fries—layered with flavorful chili and melty cheese. Large enough to fill a very hungry man, or woman, they were worth every sinful calorie. To shake things up, I finished with an Oreo Mud Pie Milkshake. Blended with creamy vanilla ice cream, rich chocolate syrup and yummy chunks of Oreo, it was a sweet ending indeed.
