Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

We found each other. I had been doing nails in a toxic environment for years; one day, a client came in with swollen, red fingernails after her fill. I immediately took off the acrylic, did some research, and found out that toxic chemicals can soak into our body through nail beds. I had been breathing it in for years, so I took my career in a healthier direction.

What was the first job you ever had, and what did you learn from the experience? 

I was a sock maker and learned that whatever you do, you need to be passionate about it and have patience. 

Why is your staff the best in the business? 

They have all been in this career for years. 

What life accomplishments are you most proud of? 

I graduated from UC Davis with a degree in computer science, even though I was never a computer person.

Who is your role model in business or in life, and why? 

I envy and look up to all businesswomen.

Where do you go when the going gets tough? 

I close my eyes, empty my thoughts, and put it in God’s hands.

What’s your hidden talent?

I'm very patient.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally? 

Yodyiam Thai Cuisine.

If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why? 

A lady I met when we tried to escape our country but got caught in Cambodia; she helped me throughout our prison time over there.
