Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you? 

I specialize in doing hair and makeup for momentous events. When I was in cosmetology school, I was one of only a few students who loved when girls came in to get glammed up for prom. I found I loved styling hair and doing makeup a lot more than cutting and coloring; after I graduated, it became my specialty. I started my own company and went full-time almost 10 years ago. I feel so blessed to do what I love.

Where do you go when the going gets tough?

If I can get out of town for a weekend, I love being near water and turning my phone off. If it's just a mini-getaway, meeting up with friends or family for a bite to eat always helps. 

What’s your biggest job perk?

I get to do what I love for a living and build my schedule around my family; plus, everyone is always happy to see me and even happier when they leave. I always come home from work with a huge smile on my face.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

Yard House for Happy Hour, Mikuni for sushi, and Chando's Tacos for street tacos.

  

What’s your favorite local business other than your own? 

Pressed Juicery. I love stopping by to get a juice or coffee, or taking my daughter there for frozen yogurt. 

 

And finally, customer service is…?

Without my clients, BGorgeous wouldn’t exist. When they’re in my chair, I want them to feel relaxed and important, and know I have listened and will try my absolute hardest to achieve the look they want. Nothing makes me feel better than when a client tells me how gorgeous they feel when I’m done.
