Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

A little bit of both! My business has grown and changed to become what it is today. Mosaic Art Therapy is a result of combining my passion for creativity and helping others. I began studying psychology in high school and was immediately captivated when learning of art therapy. It’s an ideal combination of my interests and quickly became my career goal. I’m inspired by the healing power of creativity that I’ve witnessed and personally experienced. After many years of providing therapy in different settings, I’m excited to be focusing solely on my private practice. 

How are you involved with both the community and your customer? 

I offer therapy services for children and adults in the community and hope to facilitate art therapy groups in the future.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of? 

I’m a new mom and loving it! Although it’s one of the most challenging roles I’ve ever had, I am proud and grateful to embrace it. 

What's your biggest job perk? 

Being involved in people’s journeys. Partnering with clients to work toward their goals is an absolute honor and often very rewarding. 

Where do you go when the going gets tough? 

I’m very thankful for my support system. My family, husband and close friends are amazing and always there for me. 

What are your favorite places to eat out locally? 

Hop House, Milestone Restaurant and Chicago Fire.

And finally, customer service is… 

The foundation of effective therapy. Active listening, empathy, acceptance and support are integral parts of both therapy and customer service. Developing a trusting relationship and respecting the client are always key.
