Moms deserve the best (and more) on Mother’s Day. Here are some local ways to say, “thank you,” “I love you,” and “you’re the greatest mom in the world.”

Celebrate Mother’s Day weekend at the El Dorado Hills Art, Beer and Wine Festival at El Dorado Hills Town Center from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be art, music and food, plus beer and wine tastings (noon to 4:30 p.m.) galore.

Give Mom the day off from cooking by treating her to brunch at Sweetie Pie’s and dinner at Papa Gianni’s.

3 Mom will enjoy a deep tissue or qi gong massage at Golden Wellness Center and come away feeling rejuvenated and rested.

4 Set off on a nature adventure! Refer to last month’s The 10 Spot to find a trail to trek, but don’t leave before packing a picnic with subs from Main Street Melters

5 Moms deserve a break. Give her one at Bella Vista Bed and Breakfast, a beautiful inn with views of the American River that’s sure to charm.

6 Raise Mom’s spirits with a trip to Amador County’s wondrous wineries. Helwig Winery is hosting a Mother’s Day brunch from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. that will offer sparkling wine, music and delicious food.

7 Take a trip to South Lake Tahoe  and let Mom gamble her troubles away at a casino, see the lake on a day cruise, or wind down at a spa.

8 Give Mom the IMAX experience with a trip to Regal El Dorado Hills Stadium 14 and IMAX. May releases include Paris Can Wait, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, The Wedding Plan and Snatched.

9 Saddle up and take a horse-riding lesson together at Equine Unlimited, Inc  Their “Ladies Lesson” offers both English or Western styles of riding.

10 Nothing relaxes quite like a massage. Moms can indulge in an aromatherapy session at Waterfall Salon and Spa, and maybe snag a facial afterward.
