Daniel C. wanted a better smile but he didn’t want to look “like a kid” wearing braces. For a solution, he went to Dental Designs of Roseville where Firas Nassif, DMD started the patient on an Invisalign treatment, a custom-made series of nearly invisible plastic worn over the teeth to straighten them.

While Daniel is still in treatment, he loves the results.

“I definitely smile a lot more,” he says, explaining it’s given him confidence and “something to look forward to. I feel good about myself.”

Aligners, which are changed every two weeks, gradually and gently shift teeth into place. 

They’re comfortable, easy to wear and more discreet than braces. 

“Most people can’t tell you have them on,” says Dr. Nassif, who is a Premiere Preferred provider for Invisalign.

He says patients typically wear the product 22 hours every day. Users can take out the aligners to brush and floss.

“Correctly aligned teeth can alleviate the issues that can be caused by an improper bite, speech or chewing difficulties, jaw problems and increased wear on the tooth enamel from grinding,” says Dr. Nassif, explaining treatment can range from five months to two years, with the average being one year.

The dentist offers another smile-improving treatment: veneers, which are custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials bonded to the front of the teeth changing their color, shape, size or length.

"I have always had discolored chipped teeth and I never smiled much, I lost my job a year ago and really struggled at interviews so I decided to get veneers done,” says Diana K., who’s grateful to Dr. Nassif for her new smile.

“He restored my confidence back and gave me an amazing smile that got me back in the working field in no time,” she says. “I am forever thankful.”

Veneers are a three-visit procedure, starting with diagnostic models and custom mock wax, followed by teeth impressions and then cementing the final restorations onto the teeth.

“Unlike natural teeth, custom-made veneers resist coffee and tea stains, and cigarette smoke because they are made of high-tech materials and are individually sculpted,” says Dr. Nassif, who uses “one of the best labs in the country” to make the final restorations.

Most veneers last 10 to 20 years depending on factors like gum health and good hygiene habits including daily flossing and brushing.
