Spending an evening lounging with wine, food and music sounds sinfully appetizing, does it not? Well, Friends of Seniors makes it a guilt-free, relaxing evening of activism. Wine in the Vines, set to take place August 27 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., offers its attendees an opportunity to do the least while helping the most. For $25 a ticket, guests can help the nonprofit in their continuous efforts to “support wellness, life enrichment, dignity and independence of El Dorado County seniors and their caregivers through advocacy and financial assistance,” says Friends of Seniors Chair Kathy Lishman. Enjoy an evening of socializing, drinking wine and winning fantastic prizes—all at the scenic Sierra Vista Winery. Since its inception, the fund-raiser—now in its fifth year—has grown exponentially. “[The event also] gives sponsors a chance to show their support for seniors, get recognition for their sponsorship, and have an opportunity to display information about their business,” says Lishman.
