Folsom Zoo Spotlight: Bernie the Raccoon

Apr 27, 2016 12:32PM ● By David Norby

Bernie, an orphaned newborn raccoon, was found and rescued at McArthur-Burney Falls State Park (hence her name). She was so young that her eyes weren’t even open, and naturally wild birds were attacking her. Just by luck, some savvy humans were on hand to rescue her and provide some much-needed tender loving care. Ultimately, the spunky little raccoon moved to the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary where she lives with her tolerant male raccoon roommate, Crash.
