Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

It found me. I’ve always talked to animals—even as a child you could find me happily petting and talking to animals. Like most pet owners, I openly talk out loud to them and genuinely think they understand me. When my beloved dog Zoey passed, I was devastated, as we all are when we lose a pet. A friend asked me to join her in an animal communication class. It was tough, but I found some peace. I learned techniques to be quiet and trust my intuition. The experience was truly amazing and I discovered, through the pet owners’ validations, that I could communicate with their animals. Eventually I took more classes, read many books and practiced. It’s sort of like learning to play a musical instrument—we all have the ability, we just need to practice and trust what we’re hearing, feeling or seeing in our mind’s eye what the animals are conveying to us. I generally hear or see words and feel emotions. I have learned to trust my intuition and put my judgment aside to become the messenger. That can be difficult at times, and sometimes the information needs to sit with the person until it makes sense. This can take any amount of time. Experience has shown me that if people will listen with an open mind, within a short period of time, the information will make sense. From there we can take whatever action needs to take place to help the pet.

What was the first job you ever had, and what did you learn from the experience?

I worked at my family’s hardware store and learned to treat others as I want to be treated, to be as helpful as I can, and to listen to people’s needs.

Where do you go when the going gets tough?

I cuddle my dog and visit my horses. I also love the ocean and go whenever I can.

What’s your biggest job perk?

I receive great joy in talking and meeting with people and their pets.
