The little ones (ages 2-12) will love the Halloween Carnival/Pumpkin Patch on October 24 at Cameron Park Lake from 1:30-4 p.m. Enjoy an afternoon of Halloween fun—old-fashioned carnival games, prizes, pumpkins and more! Costumes are encouraged.

The Cameron Park Community Showcase—taking place October 15 from 5-7 p.m. at the Cameron Park Community Center—features booths from local nonprofits and businesses, chances to honor our veterans, a job fair, food, a no-host bar and a raffle. Admission and nonprofit vendor spaces are free.

On November 7, sell your new and gently used kids’ clothing, toys and furniture at the Mommy (& Daddy Too) Market. Children’s activities will take place while you shop.

Attention artists and crafters! Applications are now being accepted for the Christmas Craft Faire, set to take place November 21 at the Community Center.

Registration for Youth Basketball (grades 1-8) is open—don’t miss out on this year’s season!

Events for mature adults this month include “Learn about Medicare and Medicare Supplements” on October 8 from 10-11:30 a.m., bingo on October 13 from 1-3 p.m., bridge on Monday afternoons and Wednesday mornings, and mahjong on the second and fourth Wednesday afternoons. The 50+ Room is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features various special events. Exercise classes being offered include Tai Chi for Better Balance and Basic Low-Impact Aerobics

Classes for the young at heart include a Tea Party, ballet, hula, ukulele, gymnastics, tumbling/trampoline, Cooking with Kids, volleyball clinics and more. Classical guitar, dog obedience, art (mixed media, acrylic, and oil painting), jewelry making, fused glass, CPR and hunter safety courses are also on tap. Fitness classes include yoga, tai chi, Tai-Yo-Lates, jazzercise and Belly Fit

Looking for a place to hold an event or a holiday party? Check out the Community Center—it may be the perfect venue.
