Shoppers with an eclectic taste will be disappointed to hear of the closing of one of Folsom’s more quirky retailers.

Owners of Kwirkworld, which occupied about 4,000 square feet in Folsom’s Palladio at Broadstone shopping center, announced last week the store has closed. In fact, the small chain is closing all its locations.

In a note on the store’s Facebook page, owners thanked customers for their support.

“Dear friends, we are formally announcing the closure of all Kwirkworld locations. … It has been one wild ride and it wouldn't have been so thrilling without you. It's been fun, and rewarding, and now time to say goodbye,” the company said.

“Our Folsom location is already closed, but we are selling all fixtures and remaining merchandise from both stores in Fresno. If you have comments or questions or love notes you forgot to send please send them to [email protected]. Thank you for your loyalty and support.”

Those with unspent gift cards may use them in the Fresno location until that location closes.

Kwirkstore opened its first store in Fresno in 2008, and the Folsom location opened at the end of 2012. The retail described its goods as “fun, funking and a bit off-the-wall.”
