Q: What does the term “bisque” refer to, and how does the glazing process work?

A: Bisque refers to the clay sculptures or dishware that people can paint. The clay has been molded and fired up once in the kiln to make it easier to work with and paint. In order to preserve the art piece, the painted product is dipped into a liquid glaze and placed into a kiln to finish—then it is ready to be admired or used!
