Describe your business.

I am Chef David with Chef2U, a personal chef business, offering individualized service to customers who want someone to do the shopping, cooking, and cleaning up for them!

What was the first job you ever had, and what did you learn from the experience?

My first job was as a cake decorator; it taught me how to deal with the public.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

I am most proud of having worked as a baker for three months at McMurdo Station in Antarctica!

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

I enjoy shopping at the weekly farmers’ market, buying unique and fresh food.

Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?

I really admired Julia Child as a role model in culinary arts; she was so no-nonsense and unafraid of cooking and baking.

What’s your hidden talent?

Playing the djembe in West African drumming.

What’s your biggest job perk?

Since I work for myself, it’s being able to sleep in or take breaks whenever I want.

Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?

I go visit my friends in South Lake Tahoe.

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

Being pulled by my sister in a wagon while she went door-to-door selling Girl Scout cookies.

If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?

It would be my grandfather who passed away before I was born; I always wanted to meet him. I’ve heard he was an incredible man.

What’s your favorite local event that you go to?

My favorite local event is just going to the farmers’ market.

If you could be any other profession what would it be?

A musician, because I love music.

And finally, customer service is…?

Customer service is giving the customer whatever they want in a timely manner.
