Another “transplant” from our mother country of England is the new general manager of the El Dorado Hills Community Services District. John Skeel comes to the CSD with impeccable qualifications, a true passion for helping people and making the world a better place, and a delightful British accent.

Skeel’s American career began in Michigan where he worked with both camps and schools, creating experiential programs for at-risk youth. His eyes still light up when he talks about these programs, evidencing his passion for helping young people. After returning to school for an advanced degree, he made his mark on parks and recreation programs in both Michigan and West Virginia. A stint at the CSD in San Ramon, where his wife was also a teacher, fostered a love for Northern California. That love is what brought Skeel and his family here to El Dorado Hills, after a very successful job building and developing the Evergreen, Colorado Parks and Recreation Department.

“The possibilities for enhancing and growing the CSD here are very similar to the rewarding position I had in Evergreen,” Skeel says. “I am really excited about making this CSD everything that it can be and providing even more benefits and opportunities for the people of El Dorado Hills. My family and I are very pleased to be here!”
