Bruce Woodbury is passionate about helping and inspiring others.

His career as a financial consultant enables him to work with clients using his skills and knowledge to improve their financial position, while his hobby as a musician has lead him to creating a successful local symphony for the residents of Folsom and the surrounding region. Enter Folsom Lake Symphony. “I wanted to give a gift to this fine community as my way of showing appreciation for how much we enjoy it here,” says Woodbury. “I hoped that after we created it, the community would catch the vision and support it. Little did I know how fast it would take on a life of its own.”

In 2003, Woodbury’s vision of the symphony became a reality with the assistance of Richard Merz, a well-respected member of the Folsom arts community. “With his help, we formed a board and charted our non-profit 501(c)3 organization,” says Woodbury. “I may have had a vision to start, but if it weren’t for many key people along the way, this vision would not have survived.”

Aside from his business and art endeavors, Woodbury spends the majority of his time with his wife Natalie and their five kids. The blended family, comprised of two 14-year-olds, a 12-year-old and two 10-year-olds, requires a lot of running around to various activities, but Woodbury doesn’t seem to mind. “I love spending time with them at their activities and seeing them develop and prosper,” says Woodbury.
