Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

It found me! I love to bake and hate to cook! I always say that if my kids could live off my baking vs. my cooking, we’d all be happy.

I used to bake in the evenings, after the kids were in bed, as a way to relax after a long day. Cupcakes became my newfound passion! I enjoyed creating something that was not only good, but enjoyable to look at as well. After showing friends and family my creations and getting such positive feedback, I decided to combine both my inner baker and my need to be creative into a business. Thus, Peek-a-Boo Cupcakes was born!

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

I’ve been involved in charity events such as the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital telethon on Channel 13. I was so honored to create something for such an amazing cause. I also have worked free events, such as the Thursday Night Concert Series on Town Center Boulevard, where I met and interacted with past and future customers. With these events, I get a chance to listen to people’s ideas and talk with members of the community. It gives me a chance to represent my company and establish relationships with those I’m in contact with on a daily basis. Customers and the community are what my company is built upon!

Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?

My mom, certainly, is my biggest role model in life. She is the most generous, honest person I know and has always stressed treating people fairly and with sincerity. She is, at the same time, someone who is completely unwilling to put up with something she feels is unfair, unkind or in any way wrong. It’s a great mix and something I continually strive to emulate.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

Relish Burger Bar. They have the best Kobe burger ever. It’s called the Napa Valley Burger!

And finally, customer service is…?

Listening to your customers; giving them the service and product that they want, expect and pay for; striving to make the entire process, no matter what your service is, enjoyable so that they come to see you, time and again.
