Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

Yogaberry is a self-serve, all-natural frozen yogurt shop. I love to cook and experiment in the kitchen. As a child growing up, I spent a lot of time in my grandmother’s kitchen. She taught me how to cook, whether it was de-boning a chicken or canning produce from her garden. As an adult, my food focus remains organic, fresh and creative. Yogaberry is a perfect fit for me. I am constantly creating new infused flavors using local, fresh ingredients. My yogurt isn’t like anyone else’s; it’s “custom yogurt.” I have the good fortune of the Town Center Farmer’s Market within steps of Yogaberry. I buy the produce directly from the farmer. Whatever fruit is at peak freshness, just off the tree or plant, is what I use in my yogurt creation that day. I also offer sugar-free and lactose-free yogurt options. Frozen yogurt is a health-conscious alternative to ice cream. Yogaberry is a fresh approach to a healthy lifestyle and it tastes so good.

What was the first job you ever had, and what did you learn from the experience?

I worked in my father’s Italian restaurant, where I started making meatballs and then moved into preparing sauces. I loved everything about being in the kitchen and having fun with ingredients.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

I am a member of the local chamber of commerce and I sponsor the El Dorado Hills Little League, Oak Ridge Athletics, and fundraisers for local school and church youth groups.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

Lucille’s Smokehouse Barbeque in Rocklin. It’s the best BBQ in town!

Why is your staff the best in the business?

They are fun and great kids who enjoy working and interacting with our customers. It’s like an extended family, and I am so fortunate to have these kids representing Yogaberry.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

Without a doubt, my three children: Christopher, Lindsee and Hayden – the coolest people I know.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

Pete’s Pizza. Everyone can find something they like to eat at here. We enjoy the outdoor patio in the summer.

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

Gardening in my grandmother’s garden.

What’s your favorite local event that you go to?

We all enjoy the summer concerts at the Town Center Amphitheatre...then of course we enjoy yogurt.

If you could be any other profession what would it be?

Master gardener.

And finally, customer service is…?

Everything! We love what we do and it shows.
