Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

White Orchid Events is a planning/coordinating company. We can do any event that a client can imagine. We specialize in weddings predominantly, and our mission is to build a relationship of mutual respect and trust with our clients. I work very hard at ensuring that all aspects of the client’s event are handled in an organized and professional manner. My goal is to fulfill the client’s needs the first time, with no errors. I started out doing large corporate events, then moved on to music events, concerts and local club events before settling into planning weddings. Doing what comes natural to me and what I love turned into a business, and I just started doing more and more.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

I am very involved with clients throughout the entire event planning process. I am also the president of the Northern California Herpetological Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation, education,rescue, and rehabilitation of reptiles and amphibians. I have sat on the board and worked with this organization since 1997. We do educational presentations all over the Sacramento Valley, as well as work with the Sacramento Zoo on projects with their reptiles.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

My business partner (my daughter) and I do most of the events; it’s a family owned and operated business. I am very picky about who I hire when I need more staff for an event. I have worked very hard for my reputation and don’t want it tarnished.

What’s your biggest job perk?

When I can do something special or unexpected for a client and see the happiness it brings them.

What’s your favorite local event that you go to?

The Folsom Rodeo, you can’t miss those fireworks at the end of the night!

And finally, customer service is…?

Without the customer you have nothing, this I know and was taught my whole life. We want to work with you to make your event a success, whether it’s planning your wedding, a corporate event, or a yearly convention – we give the best possible customer service from start to finish. We help clients through the process of venue research, negotiating facility rates and availability and more. We work closely with you from the creating and planning stages through production and implementation. We want you to be assured that our goal for your event is that you achieve yours.
