What was your vision when you first started your business, and what is it now?

My passion is to create beautiful smiles for Sacramento’s young people through patient education and personalized care. As my business grows, this vision gets stronger every day.

What is the best part of doing business in this community?

As a Sacramento native, I am delighted to return to my hometown and provide excellent dental care and give back to my community.

What was your first job, and what did you learn from the experience?

Babysitting in high school exposed me to many ages of children; I enjoyed their enthusiasm, laughter and innocence.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

Rocklin Pediatric Dentistry visits preschool and kindergarten classes in the local community to demonstrate proper brushing and flossing techniques and review healthy food choices. Additionally, we are active members of the Rocklin Chamber of Commerce, volunteer at health fairs including Roseville’s Kidsfest 2009 and participated in Operation Backpack 2009.
Why is your staff the best in the business? The selection of my team has been very important to me. I chose people who love children and are committed to providing the finest dental care.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

In 2006, my husband Jim and I traveled to Malawi, Africa with Footsteps Missions to provide dental care to local children and adults who otherwise were unable to receive dental care. The children were so respectful; they wore their best clothes and took their shoes off before getting in the chair. They were so gracious saying, “I am healthier now that you fixed my tooth.”

Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?

My role model would be Dr. Robert Hays, D.D.S., in Citrus Heights. He was my childhood dentist and continues to be my dentist today. He was so kind, gentle and patient, and I never had any fear to go to the dentist growing up. I was inspired to create the same experience for my own young patients.
