Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

As a self-taught artist, I found myself looking for a direction to use my skills and talents in that field. I graduated from the California Academy of Merchandising Art and Design in 2000 with an AA degree. It was during the educational process that I was inspired to start a business creating trompe l´oeil murals, and faux finishes for residential as well as commercial clients.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

My customers come mostly through word of mouth. I have a few designers, as well, whom I work with and whom recommend clients to me. I belong to Green Valley Community Church and I work on the set design for their annual Christmas plays. I tend to be the resident artist, so whatever comes up that needs my creative touch, they usually ask for my help.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

My son, Sergeant Eric Carr, who serves in the U.S. Army. He has completed two tours as a combat engineer in Iraq. He is now safely home with his wife and my two grandchildren.

Where do you go when the going gets tough?

I run to Jesus...also, my church family is very supportive and I have been blessed with a wonderful husband.

What’s your biggest job perk?

The satisfaction and joy it gives others.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

My husband and I have a special affection for Sequoia. It's where he proposed to me over brunch four years ago. We had our wedding reception there, and often go back for special occasions.

What’s your favorite local event that you go to?

The Mathew Taylor Wounded Warriors Golf Tournament. My son is in the military, so it's something that is near and dear to my heart.

If you could be any other profession what would it have been?

I am living my dream. I am, however, developing quite an inventory of oils on canvas. One of my dreams is to be profitable as an artist. I would love to be able to make a comfortable living selling my work through galleries.

And finally, customer service is…?

Satisfaction guaranteed. I always want the client to be more than happy with what I create for them
