Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

It is a camping and RV resort located on the banks of the South Fork of the American River. This was a neglected property when Fred found it; just needing some TLC, we are proud to have dedicated our facility for a living history school that services fourth grade students.

What was your first job, and what did you learn from the experience?

Since our youth, Fred and I have always been in service-related businesses. I worked in a beauty salon at 15, answering phones and making sure all the customers were happy. That’s what we enjoy doing most.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

I am a member of Placerville Rotary, and Fred has served as El Dorado County Chamber President. We involve ourselves in many aspects of fundraising for the community. We enjoy sponsoring the Rotary's yearly Lobster on the River event. This has given us the opportunity to meet many local business people, letting our guests know of all the options available to them.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

Our family and our growth together. The evolution of the Coloma Outdoor Discovery School is pretty awesome!

Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?

Mother Nature; we have had many challenges, yet our faith continues to bring us strength and renewal.

What’s your biggest job perk?

Having flexible time.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

Heyday Café.

Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?

Boating on Folsom Lake and Lake Tahoe.

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

A big rope swing hanging from an old oak tree in the back yard, facing the river.

What’s your favorite local event to attend?

Lobster on the River at Coloma Resort.

And finally, customer service is…?

Delivering more than is expected!
