Brownies

  • 2 tbsp. of margarine
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 tbsp. cocoa
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla


Bring to boil margarine, cup of water and cocoa for one minute. Remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients. Bake 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees in jellyroll pan (or cookie sheet with sides).

Topping:

  • 1 tbsp. melted margarine
  • 4 tbsp. buttermilk
  • 4 tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 lb. powdered sugar (about 4 cups)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla


Mix well. To frost, pour over brownies as soon as they come out of the oven.
